In the early 1980's, Bill and Susie Osborn gave their son, Bobby, his first dog…a red and white Alaskan Malamute named, Timber. The gentle giant, Timber, instantly became a beloved member of the family and the adoration for him would lead to the genesis of Susie's Country Inn.

Susie began obedience training with Timber, which evolved into Susie's love of training dogs. Her “pack” would eventually grow to nine dogs; Timber (Malamute), Gandolf (Akita), Chipper (Sheltie), Joshua (Sheltie), Derby (Sheltie), Lexus (Sheltie), Sugar (Pomeranian), Ty (Pomeranian) and Target (German Shepard). By the late 1980's, Susie was a professional dog trainer and the Osborn family had established themselves as pet care professionals.

As Susie’s obedience training business grew, she rented space at local boarding facilities to conduct her classes. Susie felt that she could exceed the poor standards of many of the pet boarding businesses she was seeing. These experiences motivated Susie to chase her dream to open a facility that "did it right" and gave people the best option of pet care. This was the vision that would become Susie’s Country Inn.

Bill and Susie set out to find a facility to buy and operate themselves. In 1991 they found a facility that was horribly run down, over grown with brush, and needed extensive remodeling but they could see their diamond in the rough. After a year and a half of blood, sweat and tears, in October of 1993, Susie's vision became a reality, and Susie's Country Inn was born. Bill and Susie are a testament to the American dream.

We have taken Susie's passion and applied a dedicated approach to the highest standards of cleanliness, warmth and loving care. The spirit of family surrounds us, our staff and the entire Inn. You and your pets add to that spirit and our family when you come for a visit. As soon as you pull into our parking lot, there is no doubt that this is a special place. Our goal is to build a relationship of trust and care with every pet and pet owner that decides to call us their home away from home.
